we have now arrived in cadaques after a brief stopover in figueres. figueres was amazing if nothing other than the Dalí museum. it was the most interesting museum that i have ever had the opportunity to visit. there were the most quirky things in almost every room. a very enjoyable experience.
cadaques is a lovely town on the mediterranean coast in the very northeast part of spain. it is somewhat off of the beaten path and but large enough to accomadate a few mangy travellers, like ourselves. the town is picturesque with ALL the buildings in town being bright white with tiled roofs and mostly bold blue shutters and doors. although you do happen upon other bright and bold colors for doors and window trimmings. the color scheme of the town certainly matches that of the countryside with the bright blue sea and some white clouds and arid land surrounding the town.
we had an excellent meal just a bit ago. we both began with a hot vegetable soup that felt sooo nourishing to the soul and the body, then i had a pizza magherita (only tomate and mozzarella) and delores had mussels, which were delicious in their tomato based sauce! afterwards we shared cafe con leche and creme brulee. all in all a most enjoyable meal!
we are doing great here!
and once again best wishes to all
